Call for Abstracts

Present your work at the 7th International Health Conference. We welcome original research, case reports, innovations, quality improvement projects, and reviews across twelve subthemes — from laboratory science and clinical practice to health policy, education, and planetary health. Accepted abstracts are published in the Malaysian Journal of Public Health Medicine (MJPHM).

Abstract Types

Five Categories

Each category has its own required structure. The submission form asks for exactly the sections listed beneath each type, so choose your category before you begin writing.

Original Research
For completed studies with clear objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions.

§ 03
Author Guidelines

Before You Submit

Please read these before starting. The submission form enforces the word limit and required sections, so an abstract that does not meet them cannot be saved.

Word Limit
300 words

Counted across the body sections only. Title, authors, affiliations, and keywords are excluded. The form counts as you type and will not accept an over-length abstract.

Language & Structure
English, structured

Every section required by your chosen category must be completed. Avoid abbreviations in the title, and define any abbreviation at first use in the body.

Authors & Affiliations
Presenting author identified

List all co-authors with their affiliations, and identify who will present. Author names and affiliations cannot be changed after submission — email the secretariat if a correction is needed.

Ethics & Consent
Declaration required

State your ethics approval reference where applicable, and confirm that all co-authors consent to the submission. Case reports must confirm patient consent and contain no identifying details.

Presentation Preference
Oral, poster, or either

Your preference is a request, not a guarantee. Oral slots are limited, so strong abstracts requesting oral may be offered a poster instead. Indicating either maximises your chance of acceptance.

Review Process
Double-blind

Reviewers assess your abstract without seeing author names or affiliations. Please avoid naming your institution in the body text, as that would identify you despite the blinding.

Registration Requirement

Acceptance does not include conference registration. The presenting author must be registered and paid for an accepted abstract to appear in the final programme and to be published in MJPHM.

You may submit an abstract before registering, but please register in good time — the early bird rate closes on 30 September 2026.

  • The abstract follows the required format
  • The word limit is not exceeded
  • All authors and affiliations are correct
  • The presenting author is identified
  • The abstract has been checked for grammar and spelling
  • All co-authors have approved the submission
  • Ethical approval has been obtained where applicable
§ 05
What Happens Next

The Review Process

Every abstract is assessed against a published rubric by appointed reviewers, with the final decision made by the scientific chair.

STEP 01
Acknowledgement
You receive an email confirming receipt, with your abstract reference number. Quote this reference in any correspondence with the secretariat.
STEP 02
Assignment
The scientific chair assigns your abstract to reviewers with expertise in your subtheme. Reviewers with a conflict of interest declare it and step aside.
STEP 03
Double-Blind Review
Reviewers score originality, scientific merit, relevance, clarity, and potential impact — without seeing who wrote the abstract.
STEP 04
Chair Decision
The scientific chair reviews all scores together and records the outcome: accepted for oral, accepted for poster, revision requested, or not accepted.
STEP 05
Notification
You are emailed the decision, together with any reviewer feedback the chair has approved for release. The outcome also appears in your profile.
STEP 06
Presentation & Publication
Accepted abstracts are scheduled into the programme and published in MJPHM, provided the presenting author is registered and paid.
